N2O Companies (Northwestern Foods, Inc., Northern Ingredients, and Oziama) has a strong commitment to food safety and to building a food safety culture with all our employees, vendors and customers. We are FSMA compliant, with a Food Safety Plan and prerequisite programs. We have a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliant Food Safety Management System and hold a certificate to the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Issue 7 Global Standards. We are audited by American Institute of Baking (AIB) on a annual basis to demonstrate food safety compliance.

  • Trained Preventive Control Qualified Individuals on staff
  • Foreign material detection and screening
  • Sample retention for shelf life of product
  • Monthly internal facility audits
  • Recall Program with Traceability processes for ingredients, packaging materials and finished goods
  • Use of ISO 17025 certified laboratories for biological and analytical testing of products.

In addition to our BRC Issue 7 Certification, Northwestern foods is certified by the GFCO to produce Gluten free Certified Products, the Orthodox Union to produce Kosher products and by Islamic Services of America to produce Halal products.
